The Lindsay-Grace Lazo

The Lindsay-Grace Lazo Community Playground was a project that was born out of a tragic car accident that took place in January 2003.  8-year old Lindsay-Grace Lazo and another girl Amanda Smith were both killed that cold winter morning.   

In the aftermath, the Lazo family found hope and encouragement in putting their energies toward a community project that would both memorialize Lindsay-Grace and provide a gathering place for families and friends.  It also meets a community need. 

Cedar Ridge Community Church in Spencerville, MD donated the land needed and the project became reality in November of 2003.  It includes 3 slides, a mini rock climbing wall, an alpine climber and much more. 

The project brings joy to the hearts of the Lazo family each time kids play and families gather at the Lindsay-Grace Lazo Community Playground.
